The heart of this luxe rustic chalet is the winding oak and iron staircase that leads from the basement to the 2nd floor. We allowed nature to lead our design, creating a sense of well-being and relaxation for the owners through living in symbiosis with their surroundings. Much of the chalet is designed with wood and stone - an extension of the natural terrain. To prevent the wood from overpowering everything else, we painted the walls white to break the heaviness. Through the furniture and accessories, we introduced complementary colors that kept the living and sleeping areas cozy yet contemporary. In the bedrooms, we layered neutrals to create a sense of warmth and snugness from the biting cold outside. Our favorite pieces include the gorgeous, rough-hewn wood dining table and the charming wood seats on the balcony from which the owners can enjoy the expansive, breathtaking views of the mountains.
