Industrial Eclectic

With its double height ceilings, airy interiors, and clean lines. this space allowed us to combine various aesthetics in a compelling and coherent way. Our client being a design aficionado with a case of wanderlust, she wanted her home to showcase some of her favorite things, so we created an installation of metal and wood display shelves on which we placed some of the souvenirs she picked up during her travels. The challenge in designing this home was to mix and combine items of different styles and eras in a completely original way. We relied on custom installations in many parts of the home to achieve the individualist vibe our client wanted. We took a playful approach to the lighting, taking apart the Iris pendants from Timothy Oulton and reattached them to varying lengths of knotted ropes to create a stunning effect over the living room. We brought in meaningful mementos and family relics, always positioning them within the line of sight to imbue the space with a strong sense of personal history. In the bedroom, we repurposed the antique headboard into an entirely new design by building a new base and legs in our workshop, resulting in a one-of-a-kind piece that retains its ancestry but still feels just right in newer surroundings. Artwork from Susana Bauer, an assortment of curios from our client’s personal collection including ostrich eggs, bones and skulls, kilim rugs, and a combination of textures and materials make this home supremely original and confident – just like its owner.
